The Center for Catholic Life in the Diocese of Helena

The Center for Catholic Life houses the Chancery (offices and ministries) of the Diocese of Helena as well as Catholic organizations that maintain separate legal status. They are; the Foundation for the Diocese of Helena, Catholic Social Services of Montana and the Montana Catholic Conference.

The collaborative space at the Center for Catholic Life allows for shared resources and increased efficiency among Catholic entities. It enables those who work in distinct areas of service to be present to one another – sharing their mission of service to Christ, His Church and the people of Montana.

The Chancery of the Diocese of Helena consists of the Offices and Ministries of the Bishop. Personnel involved in the various projects, departments, offices and ministries of the chancery function to support the Bishop in his apostolic mission;  to teach, sanctify and govern the Diocesan Church.

The Foundation for the Diocese of Helena fulfills its mission by preparing for the future and funding the present with endowments established for every parish and mission in the Diocese. These funds, as well as grants and direct gifts, provide ongoing and critical support for the life of the Church.

Catholic Social Services of Montana serves families through professional adoption services, birth-mother support and parish-based pregnancy and infant care support. It is a joint ministry of the Diocese of Great Falls-Billings and the Helena Diocese and has served Montana families for over 50 years.

The Montana Catholic Conference represents, in the public policy arena, the Roman Catholic Bishops of Montana’s two dioceses. MCC works with State lawmakers and stakeholders toward a more just society especially as understood through the wisdom of Catholic Social Teaching.
