The Center for Catholic Life, located in Helena, MT, invites applications for the position of Director of Financial Services and Chief Financial Officer (CFO). This position works directly with Bishop Vetter and the Center for Catholic Life leadership team on all matters related to the business of the Diocese.

The Director & CFO is responsible for managing, formalizing, and enhancing the financial services and policies for the Diocese of Helena. Areas of responsibility include budgeting, accounting, auditing, internal reviews, cash management, investment management, clergy retirement plan, administering insurance programs, property management, and all finance and accounting functions for the Bishop’s offices (the Chancery).

The successful candidate will be an experienced financial professional who is creative and operationally minded – someone who is comfortable working in the details and also a problem-solver with a constant eye toward the big picture and understanding how all of the moving parts work together. The successful candidate will be a Roman Catholic in good standing with a faith-filled commitment to the mission of the Catholic Church in Western Montana.

The Director of Financial Services & CFO is a full-time, exempt, benefits-eligible position. The annual salary range for this position is competitive for the religious/nonprofit sector, with a generous compensation package including health, retirement, paid holidays and time off, and other workplace benefits.

Maintenance & Janitorial Services
Our Lady of the Valley Parish

Our Lady of the Valley Parish in Helena is seeking a qualified individual to assume the Maintenance and Janitorial position.

This role will require 10-15 hours of work per week. Responsibilities include lawn care, vacuuming floors, mopping, arranging tables and chairs for events, changing filters, and cleaning bathrooms, among other tasks.

Director of Liturgy & Music
St. Mary Catholic Community
Helena, MT

St. Mary Catholic Community is seeking a qualified Director of Liturgy and Music to support the operations of St. Mary Catholic Community. The Director of Liturgy and Music will provide leadership in the planning, execution and celebration of all parish liturgical celebrations, with responsibility for preparing both liturgical and musical elements. The Director will help the parish worship and celebrate through a balance of contemporary and traditional music styles while encouraging the full, active and conscious participation of the assembly in the liturgy. As a member of the Pastoral Staff, the Director is expected to take an active role in the full life of the parish.

Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education/experience in Liturgy, Sacred Music, Pastoral Studies, Theological Studies, or a related field. Strong organizational and communications skills are essential.

This is a salaried position, working 40 hours per week, with benefits. Annual salary range is $42,500 to $47,500, depending on experience.

  • Prepares report cards and educational records.
  • Consult with other professionals and teaching staff regarding the progress of students and related educational matters.
  • Works with students and classroom professionals.

Music Director
St. Anthony Parish
Missoula, MT

St. Anthony Parish is looking for a part-time Music Director. The Music Director will work collaboratively with Father Pascal to coordinate music for weekend and holy day masses as well as other parish liturgical celebrations and funerals.

In addition the Music Director shall be responsible for the maintenance of our choir including arranging rehearsals, inviting choir members and scheduling cantors. The Music Director is not expected to attend all liturgical celebrations.

Knowledge of the structure and spirit of Catholic liturgy is essential for this position. The Music Director shall share in the liturgical planning process and assist with attending to copyright issues and reporting. Must be a practicing Roman Catholic and willing to uphold the teachings of the Catholic Church. Must be unbiased toward the Roman Catholic Church and willing to work cooperatively in its endeavors.

St. Anthony anticipates that the working hours for this position will range from 8 to 12 hours per week. Wage will be paid hourly and is dependent on experience and level of responsibilities assumed.
