Sr. Mary Michael Fox gave several talks across the Diocese of Helena introducing Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, a method of educating children in Christ based on Scripture, the Catholic liturgy, and the pedagogical principles of Maria Montessori. Sr. Mary Michael’s recent work, Following God’s Pedagogy: Principles for Children’s Catechesis, is on how CGS aligns with the 202 Directory for Catechesis. DOH Short Course: St. Augustine's Instructing Beginners in Faith
Our fall 2024 webinar will discuss St. Augustine’s classic text Instructing Beginners in Faith. Participants will learn why Augustine is foundational figure for the Church, what made him such a remarkable bishop and preacher, and above all his insights into how to hand on the faith through Scripture and doctrine.

- Who this is for: This course will benefit priests, deacons, lay pastoral leaders (DREs, catechists, youth ministers), school religion teachers, and anyone responsible for handing on the faith (which includes all baptized adults)

- Text: Dr. Barrett will using St. Augustine, Instructing Beginners in Faith (New City Presss, 2006). Participants must acquire their own text or may use free older editions available at New Advent.
