Sr. Mary Michael Fox gave several talks across the Diocese of Helena introducing Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, a method of educating children in Christ based on Scripture, the Catholic liturgy, and the pedagogical principles of Maria Montessori. Sr. Mary Michael’s recent work, Following God’s Pedagogy: Principles for Children’s Catechesis, is on how CGS aligns with the 202 Directory for Catechesis. Liturgical Catechesis Short Course

Following the 2024 Youth Ministry Leaders Retreat at the Fairmont Hot Springs with Dr. James Pauley, the Diocese is offering a webinar series to continue the formation. Each webinar will consist of three discussions:  (1) a section of Dr. Pauley’s Liturgical Catechesis in the 21st Century; (2) a rich and relevant primary theological source (e.g., a sermon of St. Augustine; Sacrosanctum Concilium); a practical application.
 

Who is this for? This course will benefit priests, deacons, lay pastoral leaders (DREs, catechists, youth ministers), school religion teachers, and anyone responsible for handing on the faith (which includes all baptized adults)

Dates: Feb 6; Mar 5; Apr 2; May 7 (first Tuesday of each month)
 
Time: 7:00-8:15pm (tentative)
 
Cost: $25 (materials fee, includes Dr. Pauley’s book)
