Press Release ~ October 29, 2013

The Dr. C.B. and Claretta Rodes Memorial Scholarships are awarded annually to men from the Diocese of Helena studying for a priestly vocation in pre-seminary, seminary or college. Recent recipients of the scholarships include theology students John Hall, Bryce Lungren and Andy Morrow. Recent student recipients in pre-theology include Kirby Longo, Matthew Petesch, David Phillips, Oliver Santin and Nathan Scheidecker. All scholarship recipients attend St. John Vianney Theological Seminary in Denver.

The scholarships are made possible through a charitable trust gift to the Diocese of Helena by Claretta Rodes in memory of her husband, Dr. C.D. Rodes. Mrs. Rodes was born and raised in Anaconda and received her nursing education in Butte where she and Dr. Rodes remained until their deaths.
