The Montana Catholic Conference (MCC), which is funded and supported by both Montana dioceses, allows the state’s Catholic bishops a voice in the debate on public policy matters. Its executive director expresses Church concerns to lawmakers on moral aspects of proposed legislation in areas such as pro-life, healthcare, education, social needs, aging, children and families.
The director coordinates inter-diocesan programs to raise public awareness of current issues, speaks on pro-life concerns, and works on selected issues with a variety of other organizations involved in efforts to support public policies that reflect Catholic social teaching.
